Toronto’s Cybersecurity Efforts

Toronto’s approach to cybersecurity has evolved in response to increasing threats and challenges. Following a recommendation from the Auditor General, the city has implemented measures to enhance the security of its critical infrastructure through updated cybersecurity practices.

Establishing a Cybersecurity Leadership Structure

In 2017, Toronto inaugurated a Cyber Security Program, which was expanded in 2019. This program includes appointing a Chief Information Security Officer responsible for overseeing the city’s cybersecurity strategy.
